Stubbs Injury Shock  E-mail

SHEFFIELD Forgers today prepared to contiune their season without influential captain Phil Stubbs.
Stubbs, who has been at the club for three seasons, informed coaching staff that his season was over after injuring his ankle this weekend at Scunthorpe.
“I said one more injury that would be it for me”
Stubbs said “I have a ligament problem in my ankle for a long time now and I just fear playing through it would not help me in the future” he added.

Phil, a captain in the British Army had been at the forefront of the Forgers success in recent seasons winning Man of Steel last year.
“He will be a huge miss for us,” said Forgers hooker Simon Waller “He runs hard, hits hard and drives people forward”.
Stubbs was also the key to Forgers successful sponsorship deal in Sheffield Steel manufacturers Forger Masters.
Phil joins David Hooper on the long-term injury list.
Hooper broke his leg in six places in pre-season and is currently coaching the Merit League side.
